Annotations

Basic breakdown of how RGC type names and how they are classified in CellMuseum:

gc/ac = ganglion cell, amacrine cell m/b/t = monostratified, bistratified, tristratified a = asymmetric asymmetic dendritic arbor r/d = regular or diffused diffuseness of dendritic densities n/w = narrow or wide expansiveness of dendritic arbor s/t = short or tall breadth of dendritic densities (depthwise) o/f = ON or OFF stratification layer of dendrites in IPL 1-10 = depth in retina layer dendrites stratify in (10 is closest to GCL) For a more detailed annotation, visit blog.eyewire.org
